Making Our New Employees
Feel Right at Home

When it comes to showing appreciation, action speaks louder than words. Displaying our appreciation to the dedicated and talented individuals who have decided to make JISD their professional home is the motivating force behind the Annual New Employee Brunch.












This year the event, which is a great opportunity for new teachers and staff to get acquainted with key district personnel and enjoy a time of fellowship, was graciously sponsored by Central Baptist Church and Austin Bank. The gathering took place in the Central Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

Attendees listened to several speakers while enjoying brunch. Introductions of each new staff member were given by campus principals and departmental administrative staff.











Those present included Superintendent Stuart Bird, members of the JISD School Board of Trustees, Dr. Pete Freeman of Central Baptist Church, Misti Campbell of Austin Bank, State Representative Chuck Hopson, Darrell Precin of the Jacksonville Economic Development Council, JISD campus and department administrative staff, and most importantly, 74 new teachers, eight other new professional staff and 44 new service and support employees.
